Dani DeJesus

Dani has a love for everything teaching. For the past 9 years, Dani has been teaching yoga on Maui – After completing her Teacher Training at Yoga Works in Los Angeles with renowned teachers Annie Carpenters and James Brown in 2006, Dani set out to learn about many different styles of yoga to be able to integrate it into her own unique blend. With the intention of progressive sequencing, Dani incorporates Ashtanga, Iyengar, Viniyoga, yoga therapy, and
other forms of movement therapy to create a holistic system of healing. Her focus is on sequencing and structural alignment to bring a sense of freedom in the body, calming of the mind, and gratitude in the heart.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dani attended UCLA and studied psychology, political science, and education. After graduation, she moved to Venice Beach and worked in television as the Director of Development at Craig Anderson Productions. She then decided to pursue her love for kids and teaching and moved to Hawaii to pursue a career in secondary education.

After receiving her master’s degree in secondary education, Dani started working at Maui High School as a social studies and college preparatory teacher where she’s been since 2009.

Dani is also a licensed massage therapist and brings an anatomical focus to her yoga teaching, as well as therapeutic hands-on adjustments. She received her bodywork training from the Institute of Psycho-structural Balancing (Culver City, CA), the Maui School of Therapeutic Massage (Makawao, HI), and Thai Yoga Massage with Saul David Raye’s Ritam Healing Arts.

Through her instruction, Dani hopes to empower her students to practice self-healing, mindfulness, and an opportunity to just slow things down. Aloha!
